I thought this came out very very good. It's not ment to be sweet. I wonder if people who didn't think it was sicy didn't have a spicy pepper. Sometimes the individual jalapeño is not hot. This was very good, very moist. I could not believe they only baked for10mins, but turned out great! My hubby and sons loved them.

I didn't have the chilies they called for, but had grilled hatch chilies that I froze last season. They made a good substitution. I also added about 1/4 cup of sugar because I had a feeling it needed it. Cooking time took about 15 minutes rather than the 10 minutes as indicated on the recipe. I think the sugar made all the difference.

I followed this recipe all the way to the tee and when I took it out the oven it was VERY BLAND!!! I mean I cut up the onions and peppers and did everything right, they smelled so good in the oven but they did not taste like anything. I could not taste the onions or peppers or the cheese. I will however be making this recipe again but next time I will add some of my own ingredients and maybe use a little bit more onions, peppers, and cheese. Sadly, though I had to throw away 24 muffins!

My boyfriend and I loved these muffins. I only used 1/2 the butter cause it seemed like too much and I used 1% milk instead of buttermilk and they turned out very nice.

I made these muffins to take to a pot luck at work and they are just ok. I expected them to be a bit more spicy, but they weren't. the texture and moistness was great, but they tasted a bit bland. i normally add a tad of sugar to my cornbread but followed this recipe to the letter. Next time, i'll leave in a few pepper seeds to turn up the heat.

I made the cornbread and chili from this episode- they looked so good on the show! But they were salty. That was the overwhelming flavor I got. Using an ice cream scoop to measure into the 12-count muffin tin was a great idea, and I had the exact amount needed for 12. We crumbled these muffins up into the chili, and that made them edible. But on their own, they were aweful. I prefer a sweeter corn muffin. There are better recipes out there.... Sorry Neeleys, love your show, but this was the first recipe I tried and might not try any more. The chili was just so-so.
