These cookies are really good. i must say, i did it without the orange glaze, not because i didn't want to use it but out of pure laziness :-

i have some leftover batter and i'll definitely use the orange glaze the 2nd time around. Loved this cookies!

These cookies were so delicious, they remind me of Thanksgiving. The recipe was easy to follow. I could not find sweet potato puree, so I used two medium sweet potates, boiled them until they were tender and put them in the food processor. These are definetly in my top three for favorite cookies and I can't wait to make them again. Way to go Neely's!

These cookies are so soft and moist. The icing just sets the cookie into third gear. I used the sweet potatoes in the can marked "sweet potato casserole" .Glory Foods ...Sweet Traditions brand. I followed the recipe exactly. I will definitely make these cookies again....sort of like have a smaller portion of spice cake in a cookie. Yummy, Yummy for your Tummy....with a nice glass a milk and your feet kicked up...Heaven!

I made these cookies as soon as I saw them and took them to work. I couldn't find the puree either, but I used baby food sweet potatoes and it worked great. Everyone at work loved these cookies!! They are easy to make and different. I had to add more orange juice to the glaze though, than what the recipe said, in order for the glaze to flow over the cookies.

Another great recipe fromm the Neeley's!

To Rosemary, you can find the puree in the baking isle. Ask where they keep the pumpkin pie, or any purees. I will be trying this with the pumpkin puree I had leftover from thanksgiving (don't worry the can is still unopened. Will come back to give you all the details. I hope it works.

I made these cookies yesterday and they are fabulous. The taste was not overpowering, just right and the orange glaze was perfect although I had to make more glaze than the recipe called for. Maybe I just used more per cookie.
I found an organic can of sweet potato puree in my grocery store in the canned food aisle with the yams. I'd like to try this with pumpkin in the fall and I'm trying to figure out a way to substitute apples/applesauce in this recipe. It's an easy recipe and well worth your time to make. Like a lays potato chip if you eat one you'll want to eat more :-

I have not made the recipe yet. I'm printing it out now so that I can make it for a ladies luncheon next week.

Just wanted to answer those that asked how to get the sweet potato puree.

I'm pretty sure the Neely's said during the show to buy a can of sweet potatoes and to puree. Sweet potatoes in a can are readily available all year round but especially around the holidays.

You can also cook a large potato or 2 if you have an aversion to canned and puree them in your food processor or blender. I will be using the canned potatoes myself. Their not bad at all once you spice them up and these cookies are full of good spices. Can't wait!!

Great recipe, fast and easy to make. I didn't have sweet potato puree, but I did have a freezer full of pumpkin puree to use as a substitute. No complaints in this household.
