Delish!!! I made this dish on Thanksgiving 2 years ago, and my family has been raving about it ever since! Puts a unique spin on potato salad! Try this one and you'll be the family hero for the holidays!

mmmmm delicious!! I used turkey bacon instead and used less white wine vinegar. It was so delicious. My hubby and family dislike traditional potato salad because mayo is a big no-no. But this was a big hit for our memorial day festivities.

We tried this tonight for dinner....I made it with baked BBQ chicken breasts and salad. My whole family gave it a definite thumbs up!! They're grown sons (20 & 22 and don't like mustard or vinegar. They stood and watched me making the dressing, and were both uneasy, but the bacon made them want to try it! They, along with my husband, loved it!! All of them went back for seconds! The only thing I did differently is I reduced the vinegar to 1/3 cup. Otherwise, it was exactly as written. I'm so excited to add a different dish to our dinner rotation!! Thank you, Neelys, for another great dish! I love your show, and watch it whenever I can! Keep the great recipes coming!

Finally a potato salad my hubby can eat since he absolutely hates pickes or pickle relish. Besides that, everything taste good with bacon. I did boil my potatoes with salt so that they would get flavored while cooking. Although there is bacon, I feel like this dish would have been bland if I had not added salt. I added a pinch of red chili flakes to kick it up a tad bit. I also think this is a German type of potato salad if my memory serves me correctly. Whatever it is, it's a good base to work with and definitely not your standard picnic potato salad. I think this potato salad is actually better for picnics since it does not have mayo. However, I love mayo and added some to mine for a creamy salad. It was still good before I added it though.

Really like this recipe. It reminded me of a potato dish I had while travelling in Germany; and since I served it with Brats and Beer, it was a perfect side.

Now this is a recipe that everyone in my family loved. We were watching the show during a winter snowstorm where we were snowed in. We had all the ingredients at home...so my teenaged kids got to cooking it. My 17 yr old son lead the kitchen crew. And this tasted awesome. Will make it all the time !!!!
