This has always been my favorite, I'm glad to have the recipe. No store bought icing comes close!

Fantastic. I went with the corn syrup instead of the cream of tartar and the frosting tasted great. The recipe does make a surprising amount of topping, though.

I've made this and it's wonderful. My mother used to make this same frosting and put it on devil's food chocolate double layer cake. It was to literally die for. Thank you, Paula, for bringing this yummy stuff back into my life again. (I only use corn syrup

This merengue type frosting was a lot easier to produce than your normal merengue or chiffon butter creams. You can flavor it last for something special. It is great for cakes where you plan to put lke nuts or confections on it it sets very well and holds it's shape. The only thing would be to be sure to use the corn syrup instead of the cream of tartar. I have made it both ways and the tarta leaves a funny aftertase that is nonexistent with the corn syrup.

I used to buy the package 7 minute frosting in the grocery store until it was discontinued. I panicked until I found this recipe. Thanks for sharing Paula.
