Made this for my family and others for the championship games today... they all said it won it's way to the superbowl! ; I added 1# pork sausage, sauted mushrooms, lots of garlic salt and a tuscan spice blend. I will not add the sugar at all next time, think it was too sweet for my tastes in a spaghetti sauce. Butter on the noodles?YES PUHLEEZE! yummmy!

Also, I used a crockpot to let it "cook down" low temp for 1 hr... and it was VERY easy to prepare, have my 12 y/o niece wanting to help make it next time!

I made this for our New Year's eve gathering, it was a great success! My 10-year-old who would not touch pasta with any type of tomato sauce loves it (he only likes Pesto sauce. My best friend's husband who is very picky loved it. We will be making lots more!

If I could give this a negative rating I would. First, it's a lot of work and jarred suace tastes better. But butter on spaghetti???, It's just not right.

I usually make this in a double batch so I can put several containers of Alice Jo's spaghetti sauce in my freezer. It is so nice to be able to make a quick spaghetti dinner on a busy night. Thanks for the recipe, Paula, it is a big hit with my family and friends.

Paula you are fun to watch but you should never give cooking advice on Italian foods. Leave that to Mario. Just reading this recipe makes my stomach turn. As one person said someone from the South or people who don't know any better, might think this is Italian but believe me it is not!

I have made this recipe about 4 different times and it is always a hit. My father told my mother that he can't eat the kind from the jar anymore. Thanks Paula!

Oh my goodness. This was the best homemade sauce I have ever tasted. My husband loved the sauce. His favorite meal is spaghetti and it is a must have every week. I made it last week for the first time and I am making it again this week. I will never buy sauce out of the jar again. I have three jars of sauce in my pantry that I am giving away. Alice Jo if you have a recipe for Baked Ziti to go along with this special spaghetti sauce, please post.

I can't believe this gets less than five stars. I've made it 3 times for a crowd and gotten raves each time. It's easy to make and tastes great.
