I had my own spaghetti sauce recipe that I came up with but was looking for something better. Although I enjoyed mine, it was definitely missing something. I came across this recipe and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did!!! The only thing I changed was 3 cloves of garlic instead of 1 since my husband and I are garlic-obsessed and I added just a bit more of the seasonings. It came out perfect! I think the secret is in the sugar and the Worcestershire sauce gives it a great kick. This is now my go-to sauce and I'll be enjoying it over and over again :

I need to know how to cut the tast of italian season. I used italian stewed tomatoes and the italian season as well. Over powering the tast...any suggestions?

This is one of those ...follow the recipe to the letter (oops with the exception of adding garlic salt and you wont go wrong
Ive used it 3 times so far, last night it made its debut into my lasagna
Everyone requested seconds!
I agree with the previous poster it does remind you of manwich - or sloppy joes
But knowing that the green peppers are fresh, and I was the one that put it there makes it forgiving

This sauce reminded me of a cafeteria-style or lunchroom entree, much like the spaghetti I had when growing up. It is quite sweet which I'm not accustomed to eating now. I suppose the sugar helps cut down on the acidity of the tomatoes, but I actually liked it very much! My husband didn't care for it; he likes a more traditional Italian sauce, but I have it in my recipe repertoire as a diversion from my own spaghetti sauce.

I thought this tasted pretty good... a nice variation to try from time to time. I found a really excellent recipe that has become my favorite. Try it out!

This was the best spaghetti sauce recipe that I have ever tasted! I didn't have stewed tomatoes so I used diced tomatoes. Also added red pepper flakes and a little bit of hot sauce. Everyone loved it!
