this recipe is one of the best tasting, easiest to prepare ones I have tried. for those who dont like almonds, pecans and vanilla extract can be substitutedfor almonds and flavoring. very easy to half recipe for smaller amounts.

Made this for an office meeting and it was a big hit.

I added a little more sugar to the filling plus added some toffee bits to the mixture.

    Everyone loved them.

I love watching Paula Deen and I'm happy I was watching when she made this recipe. It was so good and very easy! I didn't have almond extract so I used vanilla and it still tasted great. This would be a good sweet to bring to someones house. The only thing is that the prep time took a little longer than I expected, so if you have hungry kids in the morning, start cooking a little earlier.

I wondered why this was rated medium in difficulty, because it is sooo easy. If you like sweet treats add more sugar to the filling. The glaze is sweet, but people were saying the filling could be sweeter. They powered through, and there was none left, so it couldn't have bee that bad:. It is fancy easy desert to entertain with. Make extra!
