Usually, Paula's recipes seem too rich for me, but this one is excellent. I found it easy to make properly the first time. I have recommended it to many others. My wife also rates it highly.

I made these swirls for a baby shower and they were perfection! Not too sweet (so if you like really sweet desserts add more sugar. I made half with the almonds and the other half without almonds and added some raspberry preserves in the center before rolling. I threw them all in the freezer to quick chill and they baked up really well. They were a big hit and SO EASY! I will be putting this recipe in my permanent recipe files for future parties and showers. I can't wait to try them with other fillings like cherry, blueberry or cranberry!

I don't think my family has enjoyed a breakfast pastry so much! I made it with lemon extract in the filling and the glaze, since I'm not fond of almond extract, and I toasted the almonds to enhance their flavor. (I also used low-fat dough, my little secret! The raves were out of this world!! Next time I'm going to fill and roll the dough the night before, and cut and bake the next morning. Incredible!

Now, I have to admit, I practically ate all 24 danishes myself. I never tasted anything like this.
When Paula rolls her eyes, she ain't kidding. This is the best tasting, easiest recipe ever! Whatever you do, just try it!
    It is worth it ! ! !

I use pecans and vanilla instead. I thought they were even better the next day out of the fridge!

Imagine this...Sunday morning...last day of our vacation...and my husband said he'd cook this recipe...and I of course just tried to give it to him from my post-menopausal memory.
I told him what to do, from rote, and THEN I looked up Paula's recipe...and realized I TOTALLY revamped it, and it STILL turned out just delicious. We didn't use the cream cheese OR the almond extract, and used Splenda Brown Sugar and cinnamon on the inside of the roll ups.
We were also out of almonds, and used the same roll up procedure as Paula did, and didn't do the chilling prior to baking. (we were HUNGRY!
They STILL turned out like a dream, and made the house smell SO good! So, suffice to say, this is a VERY adaptible recipe for whatever you have available. NEXT time, we'll try to make it the way Paula did!

This recipe turned out fine but I was not impressed with the taste. It reminded me too much of crescent rolls. I think that the danishes would be better by substituting for another dough.

I was going to make them this morning after watching her sweet shop episode.
I looked on my tivo and the episode was deleted. I could have sworn that she made the dough in a food processor. Unfortunately, i dont have the dough from the store. I wish she included this in the recipe online. =( so sad
