A very good pie, with a combination of flavors unlike any pie I have ever made (which are, in truth, not that many. I made it without a crust so that my relatives with gluten allergies were able to indulge. It was very easy to make, but the other pie I made (blueberry was more of a hit. This pie was a tad sweeter than I would prefer. Overall, it is still a recipe I would recommend.

Beautiful color, great texture, awful taste..... I will do it again but use a pumpkin pie spice mix instead of what it calls for!

My m-i-l made this pie for me. It was delicious. Funny thing, though...thinking she had seen the recipe before, she looked in her "old" Farm Journal Country Cookbook (copyright 1972; still available on Amazon and there was the word-for-word identical recipe. Hmmm! Paula didn't say where she got her recipe (she was just 25 years old in 1972, years and years from being famous. Farm Journal didn't say where they got their recipe. I ain't pointin' no fingers or nothing. I thought it was interesting. And a very good pie!
