I whole-heartedly agree with those who have given this recipe 5 stars. It is a great variation of traditional pumpkin pie. I made this for Thanksgiving, and everyone raved about it - not to mention that it was gone way before the other pies, including the traditional pumpkin! From now own, this is the only pumpkin pie I plan to bake. It's easy, absolutely delicious, and I know it has already become a family favorite.

Like several others, this will be my only pumpkin pie recipe from now on. I made it after Thanksgiving and my husband loved it!! My cousin also said it was the only one for her. The hint of apple is great. It's not too much pumpkin flavor as a regular recipe. Nice going, Paula...

My six year old was determined to make Paula Dean's Apple Butter Pumpkin Pie after seeing it on one of the Thanksgiving specials. It was so easy that she only needed a little help with the measuring, but did the rest herself. The results were fantastic. Everyone said it was the best pumpkin pie they had ever eaten. Note: We did use homemade pastry instead of store bought.

This was easy and so yummy, I will make it again and again. The apple butter added a little hint of flavor that all the guests were trying to figure out. It was great.

Paula, I'm not an inexperienced cook, and I followed this recipe as written. But, some ingredient must have been omitted because the pie turned out inedible. Embarrassing to me on TGing day with 2 people from GA at my home! If there was as error, please let me know.

This pie was wickedly yummeeee!!! Once you've had this pie, you won't care for the traditional pumpkin pie and its soooo easy to make!!! This one, without a doubt, is "MUST-TRY." Good luck and Enjoy!!

I made this for Thanksgiving dinner yesterday, and although it was good, it wasn't anything special. However, I really liked the fact that it's light. Since I prefer a spicier pumpkin pie, I would try making it the next time with a different brand of apple butter and adding more spices to give it some punch.

I made both the Apple Butter and the standard pumpkin pie just in case we did not like the Apple Butter Pumpkin Pie. Glad I made the good old standard because we did not like the Apple Butter at all. The taste was too strong and slightly bitter. It was very easy to make but will not make it again.

The of the filling was good, but after cooking the pie for 45 min as prescribed, it still came out loose...like pudding. Slicing the pie was impossible...I was scooping it out into bowls. Very disappointing...especially for a recipe with such high reviews. Joke!

This pie was great. My husband, who normally does not care for pumpkin pie, loved it. We will definately have this again.
