    Good Morning,

I watch Paula's Show and just LOVE her, her show and her recipes!! I have made many of the recipes and normally have good results. However, I really feel that this Applesauce Bread did not meet expectations at ALL!

It was VERY dry and had no flavor. If it wasn't for the delicious Apple Butter Spread, it would have even less.

I think I'll try the recipe again, only add grated apple to it which would add more moisture and add more spices.

Paula, keep up the good work! My recipe files are full of your normally WONDERFUL recipes, and I'll continue to enjoy your show.

    Happy New Year!

Very moist and yummy and the applesauce spread Paula makes to go with this is awesome. This was a big hit at my bible study get together and of course with my husband.

Before baking the bread, I read the reviews and took the sage advice of adding a bit more sugar (I added 1/2 cup dark brown sugar and 1/2 cup granulated sugar and I also boiled chunks of granny smith apples rather than using apple sauce. I added the chucks to the batter whole and mixed them in with a beater, which left a few pieces of apple. The recipe was a success with my friends and my family, and I am sure it will be with your's, too!

I just watched the episode "Sunday Brunch", in which Paula mades this AMAZING bread. It was so easy to put together, and it baked up nicely in my silicone pan, and it was just to die for. My family wants it every week! Thank you Paula!

I absolutely love applesauce bread! Because I am from an area in Pennsylvania where we have a lot of apples, I made my own applesauce for this recipe. Boy was I disappointed! This was not moist, not flavorful, and the worst applesauce bread I have ever had or made. Definitely needs more sugar, more applesauce, and more spice. This was cardboard.

I took her bread, and instead of using all purpose flour, I used whole wheat flour, and added 4 tsp. of wheat gluten and it came out great. I also put to walnuts on top rather than in the bread, because I forgot to mix them in, but it worked fine too. Instead of allspice(because there was none in the cabinet I used nutmeg and it worked just as well

When slicing this bread, it crumbles. For some reason this bread does not hold its shape. After making this recipe a second time, I tried cutting the slices thicker which provided a little improvement. For me, presenting a plate of crumbs is a turn-off. I do recommend testing at 45 minutes. Serving with the Apple Butter takes the flavor to the next level.
