This recipe got rave reviews from my family. We added an extra orange pepper, and a little extra chicken, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly.

This dish was very easy to make, light in flavor so I added a bit of crushed red flakes for a twist. I'll definitely make this again. I'm guessing it will be even better the second day.

I made this for a family bbq. I received rave reviews and it was excellent. Great flavors and textures. The dressing is also very good on this salad. I was impressed and so was my family. Thank you Paula for the recipe. It was delicious.

We just made this tonight but left out the chicken. We used it as a side to Grilled Tuna Korean style. What a great combination. The two complimented each other perfectly. This salad lends itself to many variations depending on if you are making as a main dish or a side. My husband was very surprised that this was a Paula Deen recipe, but we both give it five stars. Thanks Paula!

I did use 1/4 cup oil instead of 1/2. 1/2 just seemed like too much. Loved the salad and even my kids (7 and 5 loved it. Thanks Paula

This salad is outstanding!! I HIGHLY recommend you give it a try. A favorite with burgers/brats and the like (or by itself! I suggest you grilled the chicken and double the dressing. And I agree with the one reviewer that said to reduce the orzo. One pound it too much. This salad is delicious both hot and cold.

With a few minor changes, it was delicous! (I never make recipes exactally as written. I added garlic to the dressing and added a little extra hosin and soy sauces. I ommitted the almonds. Instead of just using sugar snap peas, I used a stir fry blend. We let is sit and ate it the day after it was made. It was great!!! I had it hot and my husband ate it cold. Just a tip, there is a TON of orzo compared to the rest of the items. I prefer more veggies so next time I will reduce the amount of orzo by about 25% and add more veggies!

2 1/2 stars as written, 5 with some changes. First time I made this, this was bland for us and we didn't care for it. Second time I made it with some tweaking and it was fantastic....hot AND cold.

I used shrimp instead of chicken the second time around. I bought large, fresh shrimp, brushed them with sesame oil and pan seared them. For the sauce I used half canola oil and half sesame oil, doubled the hoisin and added a splash of Mae Ploy. I also ommitted the almonds...they seemed 'soggy' to us.

This originally bland dish became a family favorite with those few changes. We had it warm for dinner and then again for lunch the next day, but cold. As good as it is with the tweaking, it gets even better after it sits and 'melds'.

    -I grilled the chicken
    -I left out the almonds

This dish is always a hit! I find that grilling the chicken adds a lot of flavor. I marinate mine with worcestershire, salt&pepper, and garlic&onion powder. Sometimes soy and hoisin sauce instead of worcestershire. I also leave the almonds out. Everyone loves this salad!!

This is an amazing recipe. So flavorful--love the Hosin in the recipe. I added a little more dressing..I like rice vinegar.. I didnt add any more oil, just vinegar and hoisin. I'm excited to bring this to the next dinner party we attend. Thanks Paula!
