Take it off the MENU. Served this side dish to six adults and the opinion was the same from all. The balance of flavors is way off and just not pleasant to the taste.

SERVED IT HOT AND COLD, TURNED OUT GREAT AS LONG AS YOU DON'T OVERCOOK THE ASPARAGUS

I make this asaparagus all the time! I modify and do NOT use the sesame oil as it makes it too strong. Be careful when cooking the sesame seeds - they brown fast and can make the taste too burnt.

I made this recipe as a side with the main course being an Asian style salmon recipe that my husband invented with teriyaki, ginger, garlic. The sesame seeds and sesame oil were just enough punch but the asparagus flavor still shined through. The lemon & orange juice was refreshing and brightened up the flavors. As an extra touch we hollowed out some lime slices and placed the asparagus spears inside so everyone had their own individual package and sprinkled orange zest on top to enhance the juice in the sauce and it was a nice garnish.
Thanks Paula. I usually steer clear of your recipes sometimes because of so much butter but of course that is part of your charm.

This dish was delicious! I believe it is my favorite asparagus recipe so far. I cooked the asparagus covered for only 3-4 minutes. I followed all other directions as written. I especially love the sesame flavor.

Excellent with salmon.... didn't have a strong flavor @ all but you can taste all the different things, orange, sesame etc, which is perfect for the lighter flavor of asparagus. Had 8 people for dinner (doubled recipe and didn't have an asparagus stalk left!!

What a nice change! I didn't have any o.j. made up, so I used about a heaping tablespoon of frozen and a tbls of water. SOOOO good!

I just happened to have Asparagus that I wanted to cook today. It is one of our favorite vegies. I usually roast my Asparagus and finish it off with a balsamic/soy/butter sauce that we love, but, my husband and I liked this variation. It has a nice, subtle flavor and the sauce complements and not overpowers the Asparagus. It is a good accompanyment for a well balanced meal. I found myself snitching from the pan while waiting on the main dish. Yum. It is now in my recipe notebook. I wouldn't hesitate to serve at a company dinner.

Sounded great, but was a big disappointment. There was not much flavor, except for maybe the taste of the sesame oil. The asparagus did not stay green at all by the time it was heated through. I will not serve this again.
