My husband and I loved this! I ended up putting in more veggies than just the cucumbers and tomatoes...it was great...I adjusted the ingredients as needed and it turned out great...will make again in the future.

As soon as I put this in my mouth, I was back at my great-grandmother's house eating her fabulous dinners. I'm from Albany, GA also and this is definely our hometown recipe. Delicious, fresh and light! I might be making this everyday like Aunt Peggy!

I was watching Paula and her son on tv today (Labor Day and wasn't sure what I was going to cook. Lucky for me I had all the ingredients in my back yard - this year I finally made the time to garden, and used the cucumbers and tomatoes from my own garden. I have tons of yellow pear tomatoes not cherry but it was just as good. The parsley was a nice touch, it really made the flavor pop. It was so hot today, and this light, tasty salad was the perfect side for a summer bbq.

If you aren't from the south I can't properly explain to you how this recipe or variations of it is just a fabric of our lives. Someone brought it to every family reunion, every church supper, every Sunday family dinner. It was at the familys house after a funeral, or at a baby shower with the cucumber sandwiches. The aroma of it and the first bite brings forth so many memories its as precious as priceless caviar. Thanks for the recipe, but more so..thanks for the feelings it evokes. Love to you and your family Ms.Deen

I wanted a light salad to go with the BBQ chicken and this was awesome! I think it will be even better today after sitting in the frig overnite! Thanks for sharing Aunt Peggy's recipe with us!

I watched Paula Deen and her son, Bobby, cooking today and they made this salad. I bought the ingredients and made it tonight! Wonderful!

I make this all the time with the exception of the herb, but I'll try it! I also add green/red peppers AND avacado. As it sits, the avocado softens and makes a creamy dressing. I have used lime in place of vinegar and it keeps the avocado from turning brown. I use vinegar when I'm out of limes. Both are excellent! Yummmm, one of my very favorite salads. Oh, garlic salt tops it off perfectly!
