I added a few things to this. like Parmesan cheese and Seasoned bread crumbs and that worked well as a binder. you can also always add shredded Carrots and or garlic! everything is better with Garlic :

Was pretty good! Oatmeal didn't bind that well, and I added a quarter pound ground sweet Italian sausage. I didn't measure anything and it still tasted fabulous. I too served with mashed potatoes and had not one complaint about the falling apart.

LOVED this meatloaf so much I made it twice in one week (for different parties. The first time I made it, it did fall apart, so I added an additional egg to the recipe the next time. Two to three eggs is the key to hold it together, however, I always serve meatloaf with mashed potatoes with plenty of butter and sour cream and the falling apart the first time didn't bother anyone at all. This will be my "go to" meatloaf recipe from now on!

This was tasty. However, it did not bind at all. Just a lump of seasoned hamburger. I have gluten intolerance so cannot substitute bread crumbs for the oats. Any ideas as to how to make it actually bind so it can be sliced like a meat loaf? Maybe less tomato sauce?

Unfortunately, I won't be making this again. The flavor of the meatloaf was ok and the sauce topping was good; however; the texture of the loaf was way too mushy for me. The consistency reminded me of dog food which is never appealing. I used lean ground turkey instead of beef, so maybe that contributed?

Nice, but my mom claimed sauteeing the onions made a big difference, and I agree.

Pretty much what I use except I don't add anything tomato like (except for the topping and I have just started using crushed garlic/cheese salad croutons instead of the bread.
