Better and cheaper than buying potpourri at the store.

I read the comments before I did this. So this is what I did. I used an egg poacher pot, I also put the range exhaust was on... so it seemed to spread the steam out of the kitchen. My husband could smell it when he walked in. We left later on that day and came back with in 2 hours and the house still smelled very nicely. The cloves I found were the strongest smell out of all the ingredients.Read more

simmering this over the stove is much better.

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
I tried this in a crock pot but it wasn't that great, so I transfered all the mixture into a small pot and simmered it over... the stove. Much more scentifull this way. It was fun to make and smell all the ingredience come together. Read more

    Didn't work for Me?

Rated: 1 stars out of 5
I was soo excited to make home-made potpourri, but was very disappointed as we could not smell it at all, unless we were... right on top of it. Can someone tell me what I did wrong? I read someone else's reply that it could be saved for days, so I am going to turn the crock back on today and hope I get better results. How long can it be saved for? Any helpful hints would be appreciated, I really want my house to smell wonderful with this! Thanks in advance :) KellyRead more

I've been doing this for years only I simmer it on the stove and I also add vanilla and nutmeg to it. I love the way the... whole house smells. I was so excited to see Paula does the same thing (only in the crockpot).Read more

I made this Potpourri and added some vanilla extract to the pot.I also used a small slow cooker that could be out of sight... and took up little space and the small cooker still scented the house perfectly.Read more
