I made this for my coed sorority/frat coed house on campus for a Thanksgiving dinner we had, with a house of 22 people and I tripled the recipe it was gone in about 10 minutes!! I will be making this dish until I develop carpal tunnel in my hands and can't cook anymore!! Thanks so much!

I made this for company and it came out wonderful. Our guest called 2 weeks later for the recipe. I am making for Thanksgiving this year too.

This recipe is a lot like my Mother's Festive Sweet Potato Recipe.

Along with the 3 cups of mashed cooked sweet potatoes, her recipe calls for 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup milk (I use skim,1/3 cup butter, 2 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla . For the topping, I use 1 cup coconut, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/3 cup flour, 1/3 stick butter and 1 cup chopped pecans. I must say my recipe is much better.

Ugh. This recipe was way too sweet. I should have realized this as I was pouring in 2 cups of sugar, but I wanted to follow the exact recipe the first time. I spent all of my dinner prep time making this dish--little time for the main course and the green vegetable--and no one touched the sweet potatoes. I didn't blame them.

Paula, Paula, Paula, it's a wonder you have any teeth left. This recipe is so full of colesterol and sugar I actually winced after taking the first bite. So sweet, I could barely taste the potatoes. I know Paula's recipes are often loaded with sugar and fat, but this recipe is ridiculuous...1 and 1/2 sticks of butter, 1 cup of cane sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, and 3 eggs for a 8x8 sweet potato souffle??!! I can actually feel my arteries hardening as I write this. Do your body and taste buds a favor...cut the fat and sugar in half and you may end up with something edible. Otherwise, follow this recipe and you will have something akin to sweet potato/cotton candy souffle. In the trash it goes...dreadful.

Thank you so much Mrs. Deen for this recipe. My mom and I moved to Washington State and left all of our recipe books back in MN and we have been wanting that recipe for the longest. And now mom has it back. We started making this when I was about 13 or 14 in NC. Again Thank you So much.

I have just recently become addicted to sweet potatoes. I watch Paula's programs all the time and I saw the show when Aunt Peggy was making this fabulous dish. I shared it with my family and everyone went wild!!! This is definitely being added to my holiday menus from now on. Thanks....Aunt Peggy and Paula!
