AWESOME!!!! Made it for Thanksgiving, everyone loved it had at least 2 helpings, even the 5 year old! Used canned yams and regular flour. Have also made it with the sweet potatoes but liked the canned yams better.

MOTHER OF GOD this was DEEEEELISH!

I made this for Thanksgiving and everyone raved about it. I followed some of the reviews and changed the sugar. Instead of using 1c of white sugar I used 1/2c of brown sugar. I used all purpose flour for the topping and omitted the pecans.

Made this dish for Thanksgiving and it was a hit. I read a lot of the reviews and so I decided to cut the sugar by half for the filling and the topping. I feel that I could have gone with a little more sugar in the filling. Next time I'll add 3/4 cups of sugar instead of 1/2 cup. I used all purpose flour for the topping because I didn't have self rising and it still turned out delicious! This is going to be a staple for holiday meals in my family. Thanks, Paula & Aunt Peggy!

Despite the low rating, this recipe tastes good. But that only lasted the first 2 bites then the overwhelming sweetness really made me stop eating it! I eat everything, and lots of it, and looooove sweet stuff, but I couldn't handle eating more than a couple bits of this.
Not sure how well it would go over with people as, to me, it tasted more like a dessert than a side dish. Still, those first two bites were nice!

This was very good. The only reason I am giving it 4*'s is because I am one of those people who thought it was too sweet. With that said, I am going to microwave a couple of more sweet potatoes tonight & add it to my leftovers from the "souffle" I made last night. Judging from various comments, I guess this is just a recipe people have to adjust to their own taste & make it accordingly. I used 1/2 the sugar (I used brown in both the souffle part & topping & thought it was too sweet. Personally I will make this again with no sugar in the souffle part & maybe 1/4 of the sugar in the topping. A nice change from the usual microwave sweet potatoes I always make.

I followed this recipe to the "T" and it was fabulous just the way Paula's Aunt made it. I did not think it was too sweet, and I used 3 sweet potatoes. The topping was the bomb, it made this dish ! Do not substitute boring marshmallows ! I made this tonight and it was the best sweet potato casserole I have ever tasted !! My entire family loved it ! Thank you to Paula's Aunt !
