I used the recipe that was on the show, but my ribs were tough as nails. Anyone have any suggestions on what I did wrong? Thanks for the help!

Thank you for the correct recipe for the BBQ sauce! It was very vinegary and sweet, just like Dad used to make. I had to skim some of the oil off the top since it just wouldn't incorporate into the sauce. I recommend making the whole recipe - meat just drinks it up, and you need extra for serving.

I missed the rerun of the show, so thank you for posting the recipe!
I'm going to make this for Memorial Day and you have saved the day!

I only gave it one star because of my disappointment with Food Network for not listing the correct recipe Paula used on the show.

The recipe listed here is totally incorrect...The correct sauce is called "The Lady's BBQ Sauce". The ingredients are 1/2 C. olive oil, 1/4 C. fresh lemon juice, 1/2 C. apple cider vinegar, 3/4 C. water, 1 medium onion (3/4 C. chopped, 3 T. light brown sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 3 T. prepared yellow mustard, 3/4 C. ketchup, 2 T. paprika, 1 pinch of garlic powder, 3 T. worcesthire sauce, lots of black pepper. On the show, Paula did 8 grinds of cracked black pepper. Incorporate all the ingredients in a heated saucepan and let marry on the stovetop while preparing other dishes. I have made this "correct" recipe and it was very good!!

I have not cooked this yet but I am disappointed that the ingredients Paula used on TV are not the same as the ones she uses in this. I went to the store and bought apple cider vingar and things and it is not listed in this reciepe.

WHAT IS THE REAL RECIPE FOR THE SAUCE?
PAULA MADE IT DIFFERENT ON TV THAN THE RECIPE ONLINE. I ALSO WANTED TO MAKE THIS TODAY.

This is not the recipe Paula used on this episode. The recipe she used had light brown sugar , onion , etc..., & had no bourbon or beer.

It looked great on TV, but the recipe for the ribs is not the same as Paula used on the show. Please correct this mistake ASAP as we have family coming to dinner and would like to use this recipe.
