Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chuck
  • 10 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 (8-ounce) package sharp Cheddar, grated
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs, toasted
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
  • 1 (3-ounce) can French fried onions

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large bowl, combine the ground chuck and next 8 ingredients, mixing well.

In a small bowl, combine the ketchup and mustard. Stir 1/4 cup ketchup mixture into meat mixture, reserving remaining ketchup mixture.

Press meat mixture into a 9 by 5 by 3-inch loaf pan, or shape into a loaf and place on a rack in a broiler pan. Spread remaining ketchup mixture over loaf. Bake 40 minutes. Top with French fried onions; bake another 10 to 15 minutes, or until meat is no longer pink.

    The moitest meat loaf ever

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This is the best meat loaf that I have ever tried, with lots of flavor (the cheese & bacon makes the difference) and very... juicyRead more

    Sorry Paula

Rated: 2 stars out of 5
I love you, but this was so BLAAH!. We made it to the T accept for we added 1/2 cup of canned mushrooms. There was just no... flavor. It needed some more spices or something and it was too greasy. We even used the bread on the bottom like your video said. Sorry!Read more

    Loved it but made changes

Rated: 3 stars out of 5
I loved this recipe but could not give it 5 stars because I altered it. I used ground turkey instead of the ground chuck. I... also only used 4 pieces of bacon instead of what the receipe called for. I also did not have the french fried onions so I did not use them. The meatloaf turned out fantastic and was so yummy. I use ground turkey in a lot of things that have a lot of ingredients and you can never tell. It looked kind of gross before it was cooked but once I took it out of the oven it smelled and tasted amazing. Enjoy!Read more

    Fun Twist on Meatloaf

Rated: 3 stars out of 5
This is a decent variation boring meatloaf. Be sure to pay attention to the "next 8 ingredients" count; it doesn't mean the... rest of the list. That may be obvious to the rest of you, but I'm pretty new to this. Instead of store-bought onion straws, I made my own with a recipe I found online. It was great! I made my own onion ring sauce to go with the leftover onion rings. Use some mini-pickles as a side, and you have cheesebuger meatloaf with pickles and onion rings. Not the healthiest thing in the world, but good on a cold day.Read more

    Great Comfort Food

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
Granted, fat content wise this is not a recipe you want to make every time you make meatlof, but it is great comfort food. My... modifications are to use two pounds of meat instead of one (and I use "meatloaf mix" a combination of ground beef, ground pork and ground veal but that is just a personal preference). I keep the amount of bacon and cheese the same because that is plenty of bacon and cheese! I hand grate the cheese so it is a little coarser than store-grated cheese. I then also increase the amount of bread crumbs and mayo to 1/3 cup - mainly so they will be the same measurement as the ketchup which I leave at 1/3 cup. There isn't much difference in this type of recipe between 1/4 and 1/3 cup, and mentally and clean up wise it works for me. If I have the french fried onions I use them but I don't think they "make" the recipe if you don't have them on hand. Don' worry about having too much meatlof using two pounds of meat, there are few things better than a leftoever meatloaf sandwich!Read more

    Not so good

Rated: 1 stars out of 5
Everything about this was off. A whole bag of cheese was overkill. Just greasy, greasy, greasy and not tasty.
