Bacon did not get crisp, even with some extra time in oven. Way too salty. Tried it twice, followed directions exactly. Will try with turkey bacon like the other reader suggested. First time I have ever thought Paula's recipe was less than 5 stars! :>((

These bread sticks aren't real pretty but they do taste great! Brought them to Shakespeare in the park and I couldn't stop eating them. I baked them for 15 minutes at 375 and got better results - next time I may pour out the bacon fat half way - I think this will make the bacon and the bread sticks tastier. I made this with garlic salt and garlic powder - the garlic salt was way too salty. Good stuff....

I was worried that the breadsticks were going to stay too crispy, but they soften up just enough. You also really have to roll them in the parmesan right when they come out because it's kinda hard to get the parmesean to stick.

I watched Paula make these and thought they would be great...but not expecting them to turn out the way they looked on the show. WOW were they great! I even used whole wheat sesame bread stickes and I cooked the bacon just a tad before I wrapped them around the bread stick. When they came out of oven they smelled DEVINE!!!! Then when I rolled them in parmesean cheese with seasonings they melted in my mouth! WOW Thank you Paula....my FOUR sons went crazy for them. I will make these again and again!
