Ingredients

  • 8 ears corn
  • 1 pound bacon

Directions

Gently pull back the husk exposing the corn. Do not remove the husk. Remove the corn silk and use a brush to make sure all the silk is removed. Soak the corn with the silks removed in water for 30 minutes. This will prevent the husks from charring.

Preheat a grill to medium heat.

Remove from the water and pat dry. Take a strip of bacon and wrap it around the corn. Fold the corn leaves back over, covering the bacon and corn. Tie the leaves with butcher string and repeat the process for each ear of corn. Place the ears of corn on the hot grill and cook, turning occasionally until bacon is cooked and corn is tender, approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

This is our new family traditional corn on the cob family favorite. This one will stay in the family forever.

Cooked well - not the best flavor combo

I love good corn and I love bacon. I didn't love the tastes together. The recipe worked as written - it was an easy way to... cook corn (although I did just use foil instead of retaining the husks). I left the corn on the grill as long as I was cooking other stuff - maybe 25-30 minutes - the corn was cooked perfectly. The bacon added flavor and salt - if you like a subtle bacon flavor on your corn, you'll love this. To me, the tastes didn't go together. Next time, I may either grill the corn plain or with a little butter.Read more

The cook time to about 30 to 40 minutes depending on the number of ears and put the corn off heat in the center of my grill (... no more flame issues) and the outside burners on high. Turn the corn about every 5 to 8 minutes and it came out great. Read more

    Whole family liked this one

I made this recipe but substituted turkey bacon for regular bacon to try to cut calories. I'm sure it would have been better... with regular bacon, but it still had great flavor and cut down on the butter needed to make the corn good.Read more

    Only my opinion...

I find it difficult to ruin a perfectly good piece of corn by drenching it in saturated fatty bacon!!! Again... just my... opinion... it might taste good, but not be good for you! :)Read more

    Different method

Pretty good recipe if you are already grilling. The corn didn't need butter or salt when done. I enjoyed it, but there are... easy and cleaner ways to have corn on the cobRead more
