It's like having apple pie without the carbs! I add ice cream to have it ala mode and it is just scrumptious!

The apples do not need to bake this long. To be safe I baked them 45 minutes and it was still way to long they fell apart. I will try again baking them for 30 minutes. Just make sure to keep an eye on them while cooking!

We loved these and very simple to make. I only baked for 40 minutes and then let them sit for 15 minutes with the foil still on the pan. Next time I will use half the sugar and they will still be delicious!

I substituted Splenda for the sugar, used sugar free apple juice and Best Life buttery spread and made this a heart healthy and diabetic compliant recipe. It was SOOO good. It cut out over 100 calories too. Cut the baking time to about 40 minutes. YUMMY!

This was my 1st attempt @I baked apples. It was great! My kids all loved it (11-2yrs. Very Simple & Easy. An hour seemed to be a bit long for cooking time tho. Next time I'kk bake only for 40 minutes. A great & easy way for apples for the kids.

This was an enjoyable, tasty dish. My husband and I both loved it. I substitued brown sugar for granulated sugar, but then added a 1/4 cup of granulated sugar. Just the right amount of sweetness to the spicy cinnamon/nutmeg flavors. I forgot the ice cream, whipped cream or caramel sauce, but it was just as good without all that. I used a paring knife to core the apples and found it to be a challenge not to pierce a hole in the bottom of the apple. I only poked one out of six, so that was good! I baked my apples for 45 min. but could easily have gone the full hour. They were soft, but not applesauce. I live at a higher altitude so that may be why my apples can cook longer. Anyway, I recommend this recipe. It felt good to make a delicious somewhat healthy dessert. I will be making it again.

So delicious! My 2 daughters just loved these baked apples. I used part brown and white sugar, and had some apple cider on hand, so used that instead of apple juice. Cooked for 1 hour and they were just perfect....used Cortlands. Ooops...forgot to cover with aluminum foil; really wasn't necessary, I guess. Served with whipped cream. Yummy!
