This is a great recipe! However there is an obvious error in the cooking time. At the top of the recipe it specifies the cooking time is "15 Minutes." Yet in the body of the recipe it says to bake for "45 minutes to 1 hour." This is much too long. No wonder so many of the reviewers say they end up with applesauce. Once this recipe has been corrected, perfect bakes apples will be enjoyed by all and Paula's good name will be redeemed!

    Paula,
Thank you for this excellent recipe. I have never eaten or made baked apples before! I tried these for my family (10/15/09. I served them with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream and they licked the bowls clean. I used Fuji apples (on hand. My step daughter Haley, 12 yrs, was in Heaven. She said, that the baked apples smelled of the Holidays. Haley was also pleased that it was one of your receipes. We all love you. Thank you agian. I have also passed this recipe on to my boss. Have a Blessed Day.

My husband doesn't enjoy pumpkin pie so, for our Thanksgiving (in Canada I decided to make Paula's baked apples. They were OK...and just that..OK...not how I remember them as a child. I believe we used brown sugar and probably a little flour mixed in to make it a nice thick syrup. This recipe lacked any excitement for someone with tastebuds.

I have made apples similar to this in the past. I actually stuff the inside of the apples with a few raisins as well...they are yummy!!!

I'm 13 and made this recipe for my mom for her b-day, and it was GREAT! I added raisins, walnuts, extra cinnamon, vanilla ice cream, caramel topping and BAM! it was delish! I baked it for 45 minutes and loved it, but maybe a little longer. SO GOOD!

These apples were so tasty and very simple to make. I served them with pork chops and they were great.
