Super with a few modifications to cut back on the sugar (at risk for diabetes. I use Johnagold or other type apples and the splenda brown sugar mix instead of white sugar. I also add in about 3 T of dried fruit (cherries, blueberries, cranberries, apricots, whatever and about 3 T of pecans. Fill the cores of the apples with the fruit, nut, sugar spice mixture and dot with butter. I bake mine at 350 for a good hour or so. I also use the Tropicana light apple juice with 1/2 the sugar for the cooking liquid. Super yummy as dessert. My husband even takes them to work, they are great reheated. Invest in an apple corer...it's a must.

This was a huge hit with my family. Made for Memorial Day feast, so was quick and easy. We topped our apples off with Vanilla/Caramel ice cream and drizzled more caramel over the top. Was great addition to the warm apples.

I made the apples for dessert and all I can say is Paula you did it again. I cut the receipe in half and started testing them for doneness in 40 minutes; they took about 1 hour to cook in the toaster oven. The BEST baked apple ever.
