I would recommend checking apples for
doness after 30 minutes. Recipe was
easy to prepare and I added some raisins to the filling. It made my
    house smell great...Thanks Paula

I made these apples as my contribution to Christmas dinner. They were almost gone and everyone said they loved them. They are easy to make and clean up is a sinch. One complaint...they are hard to core...or maybe I don't know the trick.

Kudos to Paul for this wonderful recipe! The apples quite literally melt in your mouth. By baking them in the apple juice, the dish is thoroughly "apple" with an incredibly sweet flavor.
Not only is this dish a wonderful side dish to any pork entree, but also it makes a fantastic dessert. This is definitely a recipe that will become a standard in everyone's kitchen!

I really like this recipe, I did over cook mine a little and had more of a warm applesauce, but still very good...will try again.

I really enjoy Baked apples, esp 'stuffed' baked apples - for dessert, as a side to an entree, & for bkft. My fav fillings are: oat-nut-raisin filling & my 2nd fav is filling the apple with granola.

We all loved these! I used gala apples because that was what I had on hand and they were perfection! Just as delicious the next day cold. Mine did not fall apart. I think we all need to take into consideration the "personalities" of each of our ovens when trying out these recipes.

This dessert is fairly simple and tasty. However, I had some difficult in not completely coring the apples. Also, the result was a beautiful but very rich dessert. Best if halved and served with vanilla ice cream.

This made a great dessert with homemade mac and cheese. It is easy to make and cooks fast. I plan on serving with ice cream.
