Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon, diced
- 2 cups chopped onion
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 cans pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cups brown sugar
- 2 cans diced tomatoes with green chilies
- 1 cup water
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a Dutch oven, cook bacon over medium heat until browned and crispy. Add onions and a dash of salt and pepper. Allow to cook for a few minutes.
In a large bowl, mix together pinto beans, brown sugar and diced tomatoes. Add to Dutch oven and allow cooking.
Add 1 cup of water. Cook for 30 minutes.

I made this in a crock pot, triple the recipe. It was a hit at the party and I have been asked by many for the recipe. Thanks Paula.

Add a little bit of love.. you know to make it your own like I added Burbon... & YUMMO! Thank you Paula Deen, everyone in my family always requests your dishes from me!!! And the funny thing is... they always say.. "lemme guess,... Paula's recipe?" LOL
I've tried many baked bean recipes... & none could come close to this one. Paula... U got me SOLD!!!

My 4 family members and I loved these baked beans. I used 2 cans of Rotel Tomatoes and WOW! This has such a wonderful taste.
