The idea is a good one but the recipe is far too sweet. Every layer is filled with sugar. Might be better with plain old vanilla pudding and a meringue topping. One tiny sliver is all my family and I could stomach.

    Sorry Paula

I have been making this dessert for many years. It has never disappointed me! Everybody loves it. However, I use only 1 stick of butter in the fluff layer. I always let people know it has uncooked eggs in it, but it has never stopped anyone from trying it and no one has ever become ill from eating it (unless they just ate too much!!

I made this recipe when I saw it around Easter for my family. It was simple and tasty.

This cake tasted like a real banana split and it was delicious! I am afraid of raw eggs, so I used cream cheese instead. I also put cherries on top. The only complaint from my family was that the crust was too thick. I highly recommend this dessert to anyone looking for a great, refreshig taste.

Do you like butter and fruit? Then this is your recipe. SEriously, I know Paula is a fan of butter however this was just ridiculous.

This is a first, a recipe of Paula's that wasn't a home run. This tasted like a stick of butter with fruit and whipped cream! In the future I"ll make this with plain old vanilla pudding.

This recipe is awesome and my family has been using this for years. 1 can of Eagle brand milk can be used in place of the eggs, powdered sugar and butter mixture.

    Great for the Holidays
    Thanks, Libby
