    I hated this pie.
I made it twice both times it tasted horrible.
I even had my mom make it.
    It tastes like lard.
    I dont recommend it.

I remembered the 300 degree oven and 1 1/2 hours, but did NOT remember the water bath or the foil covering! My own fault that it's lumpy (probably will whip out and had almost burnt "skin" on top! Will make the pie tomorrow!

I Loved it, it was a bit time consuming but as with any good baking you need time, I made this for my friends Housewarming party and let me tell you it was a HUGE HIT!!! everyone wanted the 411 on this pie and thought I bought it at the bakery, Now I changed it just a bit I doubled the milk and put it in a 12" spring form pan (like for Cheese cake built the crust all the way up the walls that helped hold it together, had to cook longer than expected but it was well worth it, longer cooking helped firm up the milk and instead of vanilla in the whipping cream I put bannana flavoring. This is very rich and heavy and something I reserve for special occasions not an every day dessert for me.

Okay, I haven't eaten it YET but I'm a sucker for toffee and bananas. As I was watching the episode I was like: Oh YUMMY!!! I also thought it would be great for the holidays too.

PAULA you have out done yourself!

It tasted good, but it was kind of a mess to make and eat. We never got really solid pieces, so it was kind of banoffee mush instead of pie. Definitely not something I'll be making for company when I want it to look nice.

and it was delicious! I never had (or heard of, for that matter this dish when I was in London, and many thanks to Paula for introducing me to it. For anyone who loves bananas, or has a sweet tooth, or both; this is great. I ended up boiling a few cans of the milk to keep on hand because I will definitely make this over and over.

This recipe was SO easy, and amazingly delicious - it is now a standard for any occasion - I even threw in the toffee with sliced bananas and a couple of graham wafers (whole and ate it like that! Definitely try it.
