Sorry Paula, but I brought this pie to a potluck, and it was a total reject. I followed the recipe to a T, and it looked gorgeous - identical to the one you made. But the sugar was completely overwhelming. I'll make a pie like this again, but I'll use some kind of pudding instead of the condensed milk.

I made this pie yesterday and my husband is still smiling after eating a piece. He got a little concerned when I brought a piece to work to share with a friend. The pie is delicious. The sweet condensed milk (turned toffee was incredible and the bananas and whipped cream add a nice contrast to the sweetness of the condensed milk.

I found this pie to be exceptionally running and far, far too sweet. The recipe was followed to the letter. Sorry to have to report this as Paula has fantastic recipes and is an excellent cook. But this one didn't appeal to anyone in the family.

I thought this pie was really awful..did not turn out at all...the toffee never tasted like toffee, the crust had to much butter and the pie was like soup and way to sweet, it went into the garbage

It sounds great, but the recipe didn't work when the sweeten condensend milk wouldn't thicken up. I tried it twice and no luck!

This was REALLY rich and really good. I would probably leave the bananas off next time. I didn't add as much sugar to the whipped cream. I only added the sugar substitute that was sugggested on the show, so the cream wouldn't run. The graham cracker crust was delicious. If you follow the directions when baking the CONDENSED milk, it turns out perfectly. Not sure why others had so much trouble making the toffee.

I thought it tasted too sweet and could tell there was sweetened cond. milk, but in all fairness I have a sensitive pallet when it comes to sugar. My husband absolutely loved it, and said to not deleate it because he wants me to make it again. I rated it well because he loved it and I had no issues with the pie as in previous comments.

Made two for Easter, my guests loved it. Made the crust and filling Saturday and added the bananas and whipped cream Sunday. The filling turned out perfect, it cut perfectly.. maybe the trick was putting the dish with the filling in the larger pan and adding BOILING WATER. Was a little concerned after reading the reviews on Friday.
