I was so diappointed with the short ribs. I cooked 3 1/2 lbs, over $20 worth, and adjusted the recipe accordingly but these ribs cook up into nothing. There wasn't enough for two people. I bought the ribs at the Fresh Market so they should have been of good quality but I should have just gone with baby back ribs for how little food came out. The sauce was so fatty that the barbecue didn't adhere. Just a nightmare.

Tried this recipe for the very first time tonight and it was SO YUMMIE; a really big hit. Yummie flavor, more sweet & sour than BBQ I would say but not sweet & sour like Chinese food sweet and sour. I made this with Paula's Homemade Rice and Roni side dish; also yummie, esp. if you spoon a little of the sauce from the ribs onto the rice & roni after it's made. YUM-O!

Everyone though it was finger licking good so I made it again to be sure... Sure thing, it was just as good the second time! Lime juice instead of lemon and a pound of bacon to render for fat and then crunchies... great for flavor. Next time I'll try OJ as well...

My husband literally licked his plate clean, and both daughters gave it the thumbs-up. I am thinking of serving this at our annual holiday get-together. Thanks Paula!

Sauce was very good, used regular sized ribs simmered them for 2 hours before broiling them. Yummy goodness. Will make again.

Paula, you've outdone yourself!! Made these once and now they are a regular feature, especially if company is coming. I follow recipe to the letter except after browning, I put in slow oven for 5 to 6 hrs. basting occasionally. Meat falls off the bone and my company is terribly impressed. I serve fresh green beans, garlic mashed potatoes and cheese biscuits alongside. Easy to follow, easy to do and the compliments keep coming!!!

These short ribs were a major hit with my family. Finger lickin' good!!!! Not a morsel left on the plate. Paula Dean's mother definitely created a winner. Very easy to prepare.
