LOL....for those of you who were "ingenious" enough to use ALL of the prepared house dressing thinking that's what Paulas recipe suggested should put down the pots and pans and walk away from the kitchen altogether. Order out. You were supposed to sprinkle some of it into the recipe. But I haven't laughed that hard in a long time, thaks for that! The recipe is good if you know how to cook.

The recipe for House Seasoning makes a big batch of it. It may be unclear to beginning cooks but DO NOT use the full amount in the recipe. Simply season with about a teaspoon or so of the house seasoning or skip it and just use some salt and pepper. I can't imagine how dreadful 1-1/2 pounds of beef (or anything really would taste after adding a cup of salt, 1/4 cup pepper and 1/4 garlic powder.

That said, I generally don't like recipes with canned soup but this is a great timesaver on a busy weeknight - the kids loved it.

To the dearest girl in the video Paula Deen, I was very excited to cook this recipe tonight, i had been thinking about it while at work. Unfortunately, I chose to use the house seasoning, which is absolutely distasteful and disgusting. I know that the recipe for the seasoning has been tampered with, so I do not blame Paula, however, IF YOU ARE READING THIS, DO NOT USE THE HOUSE RECIPE!!!!! I have had beef stroganoff before and I fell in love with it, it was fantastic, I will find Ms. S and ask her for her recipe, I WILL PREVAIL! Thanks for reading, breathe deep & seek peace :

Excellent, simple, yet satisfying American version. I pounded the steak strips to 1/4 inch thickness before browning. 1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper & 1/4 tsp garlic powder for the house seasoning is more than enough to season the steak strips. I added additional butter and EVOO for sauteing the onions and mushrooms. Add salt & oil to the noodles. The longer the sauce simmers the more the flavors develop. If you are looking for a more "authentic" version, google the 'Russian Tea Room Beef Stroganoff'. Very good recipe as is!!

Very good, but skip the cream of mushroom soup, and add a 3/4 cup of ketchup instead.
