I am a fairly new cook, so when my family compliments I pay attention. This was easy to make and yummy. This was one that my husband (toughest critic and daughter (picky-8 years-old asked to be added to the rotation of meals in our house! Great way to use up left over pot roast!

I have cooked alot of paula's dishes this one needed help tooo thin needed more flour.I mixed flour with water so it did not lump up and i added more sea salt, pepper it got better covered it again 5 min .I tasted it again tasted good then i put the sour cream in it the recipe sayes at the end but after 4 min it tasted like sour cream so i let it simmer for about 5 min still a little bit thin so a little more flour and water mixed . then after about 5 more min i tryed it again needed more sea salt an pepper just a little bit.......Make sure you taste the final product before mixing it all up TRUST ME IT NEEDED HELP BUT GOOD IT SAYES EASY BUT IF YOU ARE NOT A GOOD COOK AND DONT KNOW WHEN A SAY WHEN . YOU COULD MESS THE DISH UP BE EASY ON THE SALT AND PEPPER AT THE BEGINNING OF THE END OF THE DISH. BE SAFE AND YOU WILL MAKE IT....... IT WAS VERY GOOD AFTER THE ADJUSTMENTS . WIFE IS TAKING THE LEFT OVERS TO WORK TOMORROW AND MY PICKY DAUGHTER ATE THE ENTIRE DISH THAT WAS A BIG PLUS

I thought if was fantastic!!! A few difference from how I already made it, much better than mine. For the bland review under me, it said Season to taste, you should have tasted it while it was cooking. I thought it was wonderful, another great recipe from Paula Deen.

We have some picky eaters in our family and our kids loved it! It's a keeper! Loved the cubed steak instead of hamburger! Great quick and easy meal that tastes yummy!

This was super yummy the first time I made it. However, my son and husband said they didn't like the strips of meat (My husband grew up on hamburger helper and asked if I would use ground beef next time. I did and it was just as yummy. Just a thought for those of you with kids and Husband's that grew up with single Moms. LOL

I just wanted to say that this was great all around and thank you. Also, there was someone a couple posts down who couldn't read and used 1 cup of salt in the recipe instead of the season mix, wow it takes a real idiot to put a whole cup of salt in a dish that size. It may have been a first timer, but to this person let me just say THE STOVE IS HOT watch out.

What a great recipe! So easy, so quick, and with ingredients you usually have on hand.
I made mine with ground beef, but added the olive oil, butter and flour recommended. I used the Herb seasoning, golden mushroom soup, and even my picky teenager who HATES onions and mushrooms asked for seconds! THAT is a milestone!!!!!
There are some great reviews out there, but also some ignorant ones; there is nothing fancy about this dish and that is the point. If you'd like more (or less! salt, then you are free to tweak the dish. Use common sense but also know that you can add or subtract as you like. Paula Deen is a great cook, and her dishes lend themselves to interpretation. BTW: I dashed on a bit of parmesean cheese at the very end......ooooh I AM BAD!!!!!!!!
