This was an excellent recipe. I read some of the reviews that say it's way too salty - one said they cut the salt to 1/4 cup. People are mistaking the recipe for House Seasoning as part of this recipe -- you DO NOT put all the House Seasoning recipe into this one! It's a mix Paula uses to season -- mix up the 1.5 cups and keep it in your pantry to season in place of salt. Use a sprinkle of it or 1/8 tsp -- NOT the whole 1.5 cups!!! It is two separate recipes -- good heavens... people are seriously putting 1.5 cups of a salt mixture into this! READ!!!

This recipe is AMAZING! I absolutely loved it as did my son and some friends that came over for dinner. Also not to be rude or anything but I'm getting tired of reading about too much salt, to the people that are using the entire cup and a half of house seasing....when have you ever used a recipe that called for that much salt? It specifically says in the recipe lightly sprinkle meat with seasoning...meaning season to taste, and under the recipe for the seasoning it says holds good up to 6 months....that right there is a dead giveaway that you don't use all of it. Read the comments and read the recipe thoroughly before you cook....

A good recipe, but WAAAAY too much salt. Salt doesn't "cook in"; it tastes the same if the cook adds it or if the diner adds it. Let the diner add salt to his or her taste.

I loved this recipe. The only change I made was that instead of using the House Seasoning, I added a couple of cloves of minced garlic to the frying pan at the same time as the onions, then used salt and pepper to taste at each stage of the recipe. It turned out perfect. For those who actually added the whole amount of the House Seasoning to the dish, you have got to be kidding me, you had to know better than that! That was clearly a typo to anyone who spends more than an hour a year in the kitchen.

I've made this recipe and thought it was one of the easiest stroganoff recipes I have made. I thought it was very tasty and, above all, remember to season to taste!!

Fantastic stuff! My husband loved it and so did I !! Keep it up Paula!! BTW those of you complaining about "salt" in the House Seasoning, Paula specifically states to use it LIGHTLY, the batch is large enough to store for 6 months in the freezer!!! Read what she wrote on the recipe.
You were never meant to use the ENTIRE batch of her House Seasoning in one single dish :: ! Take time to read the recipe!!

This recipe is delicious!! I have been making it for a couple years and love it! However, what I can't understand is why anyone making this recipe woul actually put over a cup of salt in it!! What is wrong with you people? The recipe CLEARLY says to SPRINKLE the steak to LIGHTLY cover! The recipe below is for a LOT of House Seasoning! As in, to have on hand when needed?! Before you post a negative review look again at the recipe to make sure YOU didn't screw it up.. And read the prior comments! Wow...
