Perfect taste! I didn't make the mistake of putting the entire recipe for house seasoning on the meat. I've made this a couple times before. Each time was more delicious than the last. Just use your brain when it comes to seasoning.

This is the BEST and EASIEST beef stroganoff recipe EVER! It is a must try, for sure. I used stir fry meat instead of the meat it called for and I didn't use the house seasoning; it was still an absolutely AMAZING dinner.

This recipe is a winner!
I like to experiment a bit so I often will change up the types of mushrooms. Instead of just using the normal boring white buttons I'll use baby portabellas, shitakis, or any other hearty mushroom. Add some extra flavor to an already super flavorful dish.
Also I like to purchase good quality steaks that are on sale and use those for the beef

I THOUGHT that the house seasoning called for a lot of salt, pepper and garlic powder, so I cut the recipe in half. But I tossed the beef in the entire house seasoning recipe and the beef soaked up all of the house seasoning, so I browned it that way. After I got the whole dish prepared...even after I added the sour cream, was when I tasted it and it was WAY TOO SALTY!! It was supposed to be our Valentine's dinner, special for my honey because since we've had our daughter, I don't cook...ever! So this was supposed to be a big deal for us to have this dish...but it turned out not even fit for the dogs. But I misread the instructions, well, actually the directions don't exactly specify that you do or don't use the entire house seasoning...BUT DON'T! ;- I'm going to try making it again tonight...so I'm going to go ahead and give it 5 stars because I know it'll turn out great, now that I've learned from my big mistake.

I've been using this recipe for over a year now, and I must say it's the best and easiest 'from scratch' recipe I've come across. I follow this recipe exactly, serve it over egg noodles of course, and it's perfect every time. I always make extra but there's never any leftovers. The only negative (or perhaps it's a positive thing I could say is that it's really hard waiting 30 minutes for it to simmer 'cause it smells so yummy....we can't wait to dig in! Great job, Paula!!

I marinated the beef in red wine and garlic. I used about a teaspoon of the house seasoning, and mixed it with the flour I used for dredging the beef in, as well as the flour used after the vegetables are cooked. After mixing the beef and veggies with the stock and soup, I noticed it was very thick, I thinned this with the wine I used for marinade, and put it all into the crockpot. It's wonderful, thank you Paula.
