Can't find fruit cocktail in 4.5-oz. size, so used 1 15-oz. can. Still way too dry for 24 donuts. After 40 minutes, was almost burned & donuts on top were hard & dried out. The butter & sugar ended up caramalizing & I'm still trying to get the mess out of my pot! I make the late Chef Warren Le Ruth's bread pudding all of the time using French bread & it come's out light & moist. I'll stick to my favorite.

I had to watch the video to make sense of this: fruit cocktail comes in 15 oz or 8.5 oz cans. Since Paula used a jar in the video, I decided to use the 15 oz can.

Does anyone have any ideas besides fruit cocktail? something chocolate maybe? What would substitute for the juice?

Thanks to Deb in Oil City, PA who gave her measurements serving 2 people, which I used. I made this for my husband and I and we both liked it. I did add a half a can of peaches with the syrup and it was delicious! I didn't add the glaze....it's good enough without it.

What this dish really needs is a half a pound of crispy bacon chopped and folded into the mix. Trust me...

Made this for large football tailgating crowd and at a family gathering. Absolutely delicious although very very rich. The rum sauce made it really devine.
