Ingredients

  • 4 ounces blue cheese
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef or ground chuck

Directions

In a medium bowl, mash together blue cheese and butter. Salt and pepper mixture, to taste. Place mixture on plastic wrap and roll up to form a cylinder. Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour. After cheese mixture has firmed up, divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and make an indention in the center of each patty. Slice blue cheese mixture into 4 equal parts and place in indentation in patties. Mold ground beef around the cheese mixture to cover. Cook on hot grill or in skillet to desired doneness.

    Good burger but needs tweaking

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
This was a good burger but they took forever to cook, I think placing the chilled butter/blue cheese mixture in the middle of... it made it take longer to cook in the middle. Not only that but as they were cooking all the cheese oozed out all over my grill. Next time, I will actually mix the blue cheese into the ground beef before grilling so that the cheese is throughout the meat. Even after grilling them for 30 minutes they were still pink in the middle.Read more

Heart attack on a plate - don't need fries too

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
This burger was very tasty, but almost too rich for me. My husband loved it and ate two of the four. Luckily, most of the... butter melted out during cooking. It is a delicious burger nevertheless and worth trying. Just do not add any salt to the meat. The blue cheese has plenty and then some.Read more

    Very Good Burgers

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I used 1lb of ground beef and an egg to bind the beef better. It worked better than not using a binding agent other than a... few drops of cheese getting out the burgers were great, my fiance liked them too.Read more

    A keeper

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
Yes, These burgers are a keeper. Very, Very Jucy. I read the reviews before I cooked them myself, as I was worried about the... blue cheese melting out. I cooked mine in my "NuWave" Infrared oven for about 15 mins on each side (they were thick) & they were cooked perfect. I like my burgers cooked done (no red).Read more
