Super tasty! I used turkey bacon and regular onions as substitutes and added a little salt and pepper at the very end. And thanks to the previous reviews I used Gold Medal Wondra instant flour and it came out perfect! So easy and delicious!

very good and easy to make will probably add a little salt next time. I was wondering about the topping (mayo and sour cream I didnt use it at all but was wondering if I missed something by not. Was thinking of just mixing the topping in with the soup and not use as a topping. Just wondering if anyone did this? Thanks

WOW! What a wonderful, filling soup. Very easy to make. I doubled the recipe and served it at a Lenten soup supper at my church, with a crusty bread. I had about 2 cups left over. Thank you Paula Deen, you are a great chef, and woman.

excellent! I used skim milk, lowfat mayo and sour cream, drained the grease from the bacon and evo instead of butter to make it low fat. If I could find a decent turkey bacon I would have used that too!

This was my 1st time trying one of your recipes.I made this soup tonight! I was nervous about the lettuce but,it was very good. Even my husband, who doesn't like to try new things, liked it.I cut back on the drippings from the bacon; I used 1 tsp. margerine instead of butter. I discovered @ the last minute that I didn't have any sour cream, so i didn't have that either.I plan to make some for my women's ministry! I found the Gold Medal quick dissolve flour @ Walmart. Thanks!

I made this soup for supper tonight. My husband's comments "this is amazing, this is so good". What can I say? It brought a smile to my face. I did not find the instant flour. I used all porpuse flour and the soup turned out so good.
