I am a novice at baking but 2 TABLESPOONS of baking powder for 12 muffins sounds wrong to me. Perhaps 2 TEASPOONS would make a huge difference in this recipe. Just a guess....

I was really looking forward to these muffins coming out of the oven but they were very disappointing. I can actually taste the baking powder, they need more sugar and they're very crumbly. I whipped up a little flavored butter to go with them but really they should stand on their own and they don't. I love Paula Dean, but this recipe is not a keeper without some serious modifications.

My family liked these muffins. They were pretty crumbly, but very good. Unfortunately, I used one of those flexible muffin pans which you can bake in, and I had a very hard time getting them out. I would have probably preferred 1 cup of blueberries, but either way they were real good. It calls for white or brown sugar, and I decided to use white graulated sugar on the tops and we liked it. I love Paula's recipes!

My second batch of these marvelous muffins are in the oven at this very minute. My husband and I love these moist, not overly sweet, breakfast delights. I'm planning to share the second batch with friends. Please try these; you won't be disappointed.

This was a very easy and delicious muffin recipe. They are not super sweet, but I guess that's how I like blueberry muffins to be. The sugar doesn't overpower, but instead, you taste the natural sweetness of the fruit. Very good, and again, EASY.

after watching the show i went online and printed out the recipie. i was so excited to make these muffins for my husband as a suprise. although i love Paula dean and her show i was the one who was suprised.
after making a special trip to the store for blueberry's, i came home to whip a batch up.
they looked really yummy and the reciep was simple, but i was shocked when i took a bite out of one.
i immeaditly looked over the recipie and marked everything off making sure i had added all the ingreadents, which i had. i found these muffins very odd tasting and bitter. needless to say i have a whole batch that didnt turn out using this recipie and they went to waste. i have all of Paul's cook books and looked threw them to find this recipie and couldn't. i am wondring if i add more sugar and maybe a few other ingreadents if it would help this recipie in any way.

My daughter and I made these muffins the day we saw the show. They looked sooo good on TV. My husband really liked them but I think they could have been a little sweeter. I will make them again but will increase the sugar a little.

This is what is known in our family as "a Paula Deen keeper". It's simple, easy and ohhhh so good.
