It helps to peruse the reviews before trying out a new online recipe. I thank those here whose enthusiam for this recipe matches their very thorough descriptions and suggestions. Here is what I learned: 1 Lay off the salt, soy and or season salt (I feel bad for those who mistook 1 cup of salt as part of the actual recipe 2 For those who experienced mushy macaroni - mine turned out perfect because I followed the recipe which states to SIMMER (very, very low heat the entire time...plus the "let it sit for 30 minutes" was the key, in my opinion. With that said, I love recipes that turn out better than expected. My personal touch: No bay leaves, used fresh thyme, oregano and a generous amount of basil from my garden (instead of italian seasonings and added a teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes (my family loves spice. It turned out great and looking forward to reheating the leftovers (oh, there will be leftovers today. Cheers!

Excellent! I use whole wheat or whole grain pasta (check doneness in 20 minutes instead of 30. I also add a chunk each of red, yellow, and orange peppers. I use chunks so those who do not eat peppers may easily remove the ingredient. And yes--I use ground beef--:--instead of turkey. Next time, I plan to use beef broth instead of water and reduce the amount of salt. I may try vegetable pasta, as well.

Our family of 5 loved this dish, especially my husband. We had enough to have leftovers the next night. I was out of the bay leaf and seasoned salt and the dish was still tasty.
