I've made this twice and really like it - I like ALL of Paula's recipes! I used only ground turkey, no beef. First time I used the diced tomatoes but second time I did not have any and used a can of whole tomatoes which I gently blended. I really liked the texture of the goulash with the blended whole tomatoes and will continue to use them. These were the only changes I made and it came out great! Getting ready to make a large pot for the Super Bowl and will hopefully have some leftovers for the week.

I christened my new Dutch Oven with this recipe. I used quinoa elbow macaroni with no problem. I am going to chop up a jalapeno the next time I make it.
This will be a dish i revisit often.

This was super good and I would make it again. Used only half the salt and salt seasoning and used the jumbo elbow macaroni @ 2-1/2 cups because my grandson likes pasta. You could certainly jazz it up with green, red and/or yellow peppers but not necessary.

Though I've relied on many of Food Net's recipes in the past, this is the first one that I actually felt compelled to write a review on (I literally created an account for this moment people!! lol. Not only is this dish very, very easy to make.. it's absolutely delicious!! I agree with the previous posts that it's a bit on the salty side but it definitely didn't keep me and my boyfriend from devouring it anyhow. Keep in mind, though, that suggested serving size for this recipe is completely off. Judging by the instructions above alone, I anticipated having about one more meal's worth of food remaining for myself and my boyfriend and we hardly put a dent in the original dish. You could without a doubt get 10-12 servings out of this one recipe! But it's sooo good :

I saw Paul making this on an episode I was watching when I was sick with mono of all things. I hadn't eaten much in a week, and I saw this and thought, "That really looks good!" I had my partner make it for me when he got home, and lo and behold, it was wonderful! Thanks, Paula...I credit this dish for getting me over the hump and on the road to recovery. Well, maybe not, but it was the only thing that tasted good to me then, and I still love it today!! Some thing the Italian seasoning is too strong, but I love the little "kick" it gives the dish. You'll never settle for a boring goulash again!

I love PD's recipes. I make it for taste and good old-fashioned-the-way-mom-used-to-make-it feel. The taste of comfort. I definitely do not make her recipes with controlling my calorie, salt, or any other healthy type intake in mind. But, if you are looking for a taste of comfort that warms you to your bones when its cold outside. This dish meets those needs and exceeds it.

This is one of my favorites!! I make this often. I do use a little less salt and I use small ziti instead of elbow noodles. There is rarely any leftovers, my MIL even said this was good and she never compliments my cooking.

I added 1/2 cup of brown sugar to this recipe. That made it absolutely delish! Took it to a potluck, not much left to bring home. Might try it with sausage and green peppers next time.

This is delicious! (I had commented on other reviewers' propensity to preach about the evils of salt and consequently give this dish a low rating without tasting it, but apparently that is a No-No on this board! Wonder if they'll publish this one!
I ADDED a little garlic salt.
