When i tried this recipe my dad LOVED it. He said it was hearty and had great flavors. Even though it took awhile when i tried it, it wasn't difficult. I will be making this recipe again

My family loved this dish. Easy to make and hearty enough to keep my 5 boys full for more than 1/2 hour. I truly believe that the reviews that are critical of the salt content have just made a mistake of adding the whole house seasoning recipe rather than just the tablespoon called for. Really folks, who would ever add a cup of salt to anything?

I'm confused. I found this recipe on Paula's newsletter that I received by e-mail and the recipe only calls for 2 pounds of lean beef. Where is the turkey coming from (which by the way I find the idea of adding to this dish not appetizing. Has anyone made this without the turkey?

The family of men LOVES this recipe...for me, what is not to love about something that is made from things I keep on hand at all times?
I made it the first time following the exact recipe and now I use ground round or sirloin ( if I get them on sale for all the meat and leave out the turkey, no draining necessary and the salt is kosher salt ( it does need quite a bit because of the pasta, but salt to your taste Also, I use Worcestershire and not soy sauce.
Its a great meal to feed to a hungry crowd. I like to serve it without the sour cream and with cheesy garlic bread and salad

My all time favorite goulash. It's amazing! The only thing I change is use the corkscrew pasta at Halloween to give the "worm" look. I always have to make a double batch for my crowd!

DO NOT change anything on this recipe. It is great just the way it is. I have made this numerous times! It's even better the next day! An absolute WIN!

I did some tweaking on this recipe based on other reviews & my family went nuts for it. Here's what I did: reduced water to 2C & added 1 C of red wine; added 1/2 C of ketchup (my mom always did that upped the macaroni to 3 C & doubled the garlic to 6 cloves. My hubbie is on a lower sodium diet due to blood pressure, so here's the salt related changes reduced soy sauce to 2 T & used low sodium version; left out the House seasoning altogether (the extra garlic covered the garlic powder in the house seasoning. This recipe is going into my high rotation list. I also love how much it makes because day 2 is even better than day 1!
