I gave this one star because this was the lowest review I could give. I made this pie according to the recipe for Thanksgiving. People who took a bite spit it out... even the children couldn't eat it! The gelatin gave the pie a strange texture; sort of like rubber. I have never written a review before, but this pie was just awful.

DELICIOUS!!! And SOOOO pretty! So after reading the reviews, I used less gelatin. I also messed up my first batch of candy by cooking too long. I was waiting for the brown color that Paula had showed. By the time it got to that point it was too late. I still kept it and mixed it with whipped cream for a caramel whipped cream for something else. The second time around I didn't cook as long and removed from heat while still red. If you wanted you could add some crushed mint in when mixing with the whipped cream. But if you serve like Paula did by sprinkling the mint everywhere, you'll end up with a delicious bite. My husband and I thought it was very good and NOT TOO SWEET at all!

This pie is amazing. I really can't even describe the flavor. The peppermint is so subtle, but completely delicious. As for portion size, a small slice will definitely suffice! And the pie is very rich, so I bet it's absolutely wonderful with a cup of coffee! I highly recommend this pie!

I normally love Paula's recipes and had high hopes for this one, but ended up disappointed. I made two of these for Christmas - one for each side of the family and no one liked it from the children all the way up to the great-grandparents. I love sweets, but this was just too sweet & even a little sickening. Oh well, on to the next recipe.

It took me two tries to get this right, but it was totally worth it! This pie is fairly easy to make, and the finished product is yummy and a great holiday treat (or non-holiday treat it you're so inclined. Tip: Mash candy up very well unless you want to stand over a hot pan stirring for an hour or two! Also make sure candy/gelatin mixture is almost completely cool before adding remaining whipped cream unless you want a sloppy jello pie.

This tastes soo good as you are making it (licking the bowl but after it "gells" in the refrigerator it has a "moose-like" texture. I am not a fan of moose and neither is my wife so we ended up to toss this creation! Sorry Paula! It looked pretty but tasted nasty!
