I absolutely LOVE this recip! I made this for Thanksgiving 2010 & decided, as well as my family, to make this a holiday tradition pie!

Use Alton Brown's Spiced Pecans with this... people were "helping" me take it out of the oven and "helping" me let it cool. The last time I saw the pie it was in the oven. Then someone said "I'll get it". Then they all went to the kitchen. I never got a slice. The ice cream was gone too. I had to make another one and ban everyone from the kitchen!

I am a Yankee married to a Texan, so when he requested pecan pie for Thanksgiving last year, I panicked! I came here and researched and came up with two different recipes to try. One was from Food Network Kitchens and then this one. I love Paula's personality, but I haven't had much luck with her recipes in the past. I have to say, this recipe won hands down with my husband. And I loved it too! I always thought I hated pecan pie - who knew?? This pie has replaced my mother's apple pie recipe on my Thanksgiving menu. The only change I am going to make to it this year is I am going to toast the pecans because I think toasting them gives it a little more depth of flavor. I highly recommend this recipe :

I made this with a gram cracker crust and it was amazing! I recommend you serve it warm with vanilla ice cream.

It's quick, it's super easy, and it's absolutely delicious! Depending on your oven, you might want to leave it in a few extra minutes.

Yummy stuff, but cook for about 35 minutes rather than 25 and unless you really want a strong bourbon flavor--I found that 2 tablespoons overpowered the other flavors--reduce the amount to 1 tablespoon. Also, this recipe doesn't call for chocolate, but when she made this on the show she added a small amount of baking chocolate. Delicious!
