The recipe was so simple. I live in Texas so maybe that's why the cooking time was perfect. Mine didn't come out like soup at all! We will for sure make this again for Thanksgiving or for any day.

Great recipe. I'll make this a regular pie for the holidays.
Note: I used 2 1/2 cups of chopped pecans, and used pecan halves to decorate the top. The extra pecans give you nuts through out the filling top to bottom. I'm not huge on just a sweet filling, so the extra nuts work nicely.

Just made this pie........very basic but the butter is a nice twist on Pecan Pie. I use 10 inch pie plates so I just doubled the recipe, also, instead of white sugar I did half and half with brown sugar. I only had rum , so that's what went in there. You do have to bake this longer than suggested (I'm in Denver so I'm use to adjusting bake time...........When I bake at sea level my peanut butter cookies are like saw dust!! Thanks for the recipe Paula. We'll let you know what the family says.

I have been using this recipe for 3 years now and I constantly get rave reviews on it. It is easy to prepare and it tastes excellent. I have noticed however, that you may need to increase your cooking time.

I'll take the reviewers advice and cook longer. Also, I'll probably use the best whiskey, Jack Daniel's.

This pie is drop dead delicious! Unfortunately, like many of the reviewers before me, after baking for 10 mins at 375 and a lloonng 45 mins at 350 - I still had a soupy pie! After letting it cool to see if it would set (which it didn't, I ended up baking for an additional 15 mins on 350, and allowing the pie to cool in the oven after I turned it off. The result got rave reviews, but keep an eye on the cooking time. 4 stars.
