This is my new "go to" appetizer. Very easy to make, but looks spectacular because of the puff pastry. I make it with a 4oz wheel of goat brie and halve the jam and walnuts. Put the jam on first; it's impossible to spread jam on top of the walnuts. I also have wrapped the pastry so it folds under the cheese. Cut out a leaf or two to decorate the top. Only one egg is needed for the wash; add a splash of water. Everyone loves it!

Made this for the first time for a jewery dem I was invited to. I threw the recipe in my pocketbook in case anyone asked. Good thing because everyone asked! I used a pouch of slice almond accents with seedless raspberry jam, and served with wheat sesame crisps. I garnished the platter with red and green grapes, and it was the most popular appetizer at the party. I will definitely be making this again. I too pressed the ends and seams together instead of string. Also, after rolling out my dough, I brushed the one side with egg, put down the brie on the dough and assembled it, picked it up assembled and brushed the bottom with egg, placed it on the cookie sheet, and brushed the outsides with egg. Easier and less messy than trying to brush both sides of the dough first and putting the nuts and jam on the cheese on a separate plate.

I made this for Valentines day and my fiancee loved it. I also did not have string and just bundled it together and it worked just fine. I also like mixing a little brown sugar in with the nuts when they cook, and it's so delicious. Was skeptical about the raspberry jam, but definitely works.

This is a sophisticated dish that is impressive yet so easy to make. I formed a knot with the pastry without the string and it worked great without it. My family enjoyed the dish without the crackers, even though they are a nice option. I'm going to experiment using different jams and fruits. I'm sure its a no fail result!

I made this recipe on New Years Eve ... after a couple of martinis and while chatting with guests in the kitchen. I mention this because I am a person who has to concentrate on my cooking or bad things usually happen ... so you know this was easy! Not only was it easy, but, more importantly, it tasted great! I used a 10 oz Brie wheel, pecans and seedless organic raspberry jam. I didn't tie the "bundle", but it stayed together perfectly. I served it with bruschetta toasts. Mmmmmm....

The only thing different is I used seedless raspberry jam. Easy and beautiful to serve at a party.

I've used apricot jam and almonds, fig preserves and hazlenuts, and four fruit preserves with chopped mixed nuts. It is a no-fail recipe, no matter what you do!

So I'm reviewing this Brie recipe again because its so fabulous! Do not hesitate one second on making this...do yourself and your guests a favor and make it. The presentation is amazing and the taste is out of this world. Substittute whatever nuts you'd like because nobody will be able to tell. Anytime I have to bring a dish, I'm ALWAYS asked to bring the Brie...enjoy!!!!
