    For this recipe, I left out the bacon only because of a vegetarian in the family. I substituted the cheddar for smoked gouda and thought it was very good. This recipe is easy and my family loved it. A definite winner especially with the raisins.

    This broccoli salad was exactly what I was looking for. It's the perfect replacement for regular salad all the time. My husband and I love it! I Will make this for all family occasions from now on.

    We don't eat bacon too often- so when I needed to do something with a head of broccoli, I had everything but bacon on hand. Made it as a side dish to spareribs and got rave reviews, even the kids really enjoyed it. Great way to get veggies into the fussy one. This is a "keeper".

    I made this for a potluck and it was a popular dish. To save some time, I bought a bag of fresh broccoli florets (2 lb bag and I used about 3/4 of the bag and the ready-to-serve bacon (which I crisped in the toaster oven a bit. The salad got better after it sat a while, so making it early helps.
