This would be the very first soup I have ever tried to make. I must say delicious this soup was so goooooood - I'm heading back to the store to make more. The family loved it. I did not use as much broth as instructed (that's the only thing, but I love Paula and I am looking for something else to make.

I loved it. I used chicken stock and added a little velveeta cheese to make it cheesier. I did not have any fresh broccoli so I used frozen. Great recipe! I made a big pot so I can freeze some for a quick lunch.

I used the basic recipe as the base. I sauteed 2 Tbs chopped sweet onion and 1/4 c. sliced baby bella mushrooms. In the blender I put a handful of baby spinach, the broccoli, sauteed onion and mushrooms and the 2 c. of chicken broth. I pureed it together then put it in a pan on medium heat and added a 1/2 c. of half & half. Very yummy!!!

Paula, thanks for keeping it simple. Like many others, I made a few changes, but I didn't mess with the basics. I minced and sauteed some onion and garlic before adding the broccoli to the pot. Also, instead of steaming the broccoli, I boiled it for a couple minutes. Then I reserved the broccoli water and used it, along with some chicken base (didn't have broth, and the cream and let it simmer for a little while. This recipe is easy to modify so you can make it your own.
