Wow, this bacon was fabulous! My kids really enjoyed and so did I. I have to say I was a bit concerned doing anything to bacon, being its so wonderful on its own. But wow, it was super good. My husband didn't like it because he isn't into sweet things. He doesn't have a sweet tooth. So it was too sweet for him. But the kids and I loved it. Also, if anyone you know has diabetes, don't make them this.
I will be making this many many times!

I made this today for a few friends and everyone really liked it. I didnt add more than a shake of chili powder and it was really yummy! I do think if you like it crispy it needs to be baked longer than 20 mins though or on a higher temperature. I will be making bacon this way from now on!

My first batch was not spicy enough for my family (we LOVE HOT stuff. We used cayenne on the second batch and it turned out much to our liking. Also know your oven, I had to turn up the heat to 425 degrees in order to get the bacon really crispy without burning the sugar.
Caution to those who make this, do not let the bacon cool on the rack. Even using a non-stick rack, I had to struggle tp get the bacon off.
