    I had a Superbowl party to attend, to which I was going to take my famous 7-layer dip. But my friend said too many people had taken dips and she wanted something sweet. I had seen Paula make these earlier that day, and logged on to print the recipe, rush to the supermarket and buy my ingredients. Well let me preface by saying that I also made brownies out of a box, for those people who might be more picky to try something new....brownies were never even touched, and eventhough I had already doubled the recipe, these chewies were still gone in a flash, they were A HIT!! Not to mention how simple they were to make and inexpensive at that, even if you have to buy every ingredient on the list like me!!!! Try them, you'll thank yourself and people will thank you!

    I added a little salt to the batter (it seemed to need it; maybe because I used unsalted butter the second time I made these. I think they turned out better this way.

    Very easy and simple to make. Good ol home country goodness. Couldn't put them down. I did use 1 cup of flour instead of 3/4 like it said to use. It made them a little more crusty on top.

    Everyone usually has these ingredients and it is so quick and easy to make this incredible dessert. It tastes like a praline. Next time I will try adding pecans! Yummy!!
